This made me laugh.
I was thrilled to produce the music video “Higher” for the band Creed when it came out. The band was massive and inescapable at the time, the budget was really healthy, and I got to work with one of my good friends, Bridget Hollenback, for the Wind-Up Records label. Bridget was the video commissioner at the time. Jon Goldberg, the world’s best production manager before he became a successful and talented producer, kept us laughing and entertained throughout. We shot at the Universal Studios Ampitheatre in Orlando.
The video went on to be huge, and we would watch MTV and VH1 every Friday as it made leaps and bounds to the top of the video and record charts. It was nominated for an MTV award, but didn’t win. (I knew this going in to Radio City, when our tickets were on the second-floor balcony) It swept up at VH1 Honors instead. (They sent a Limo for us)
I have only fond memories of the whole process and time. I love how 25 years later it’s come back to Instagram like this. It reminds me to never take myself or what I do too seriously.
